Yay or nay?

Phil Rogers of the Chicago Tribune wrote a story that suggested, no demanded, that the Cubs dump Carlos Zambrano immediately. He was tired of his antics against the White Sox on Sunday in losing 6-0.

The Tribune ran a poll asking fans should the Cubs get rid of him? So far over 16,000 votes and amazingly almost 57% say get rid of him.

The man does not control his emotions well. Granted. He is still one of the most talented pitchers in the game.

What the Cubs need to do is get rid of pitching coach Larry Rothschild and get a coach with backbone to stand up to the immature Zambrano. Thoughts?

The Cubs have had pitching problems for years, yet they've kept their pitching coach.

Why?

MY opinion...

For the amount of money Zombrano is paid, it should not be required to have a babysitter to manage his moods and tantrums. Good sportsmanship is part of what makes a great player. Other greats do not need pacifiers.

Zambrano every year is going have his moments of strange behavior and tantrums. What makes him have these moments is also what makes him a good pitcher. Things like cutting down on caffeine helped him but they will never completely go away because it's what he is.
You haven't seen him get caught with a gun in his car or with a DUI or at a bar where someone is shot or running a dog fighting match, so get off his case!
Scott, Ozzie and Zambrano are very much alike and admire each other so Ozzie would not "kick his ass" and probably wouldn't be able to handle him any better than anyone else.
Even Jack Haley wouldn't be able to handle him.

The Tribune is on his case not just me. He should be much better and you can't deny it.

He just said to trade him in Trib.

And the Cubs should trade "the best pitcher in the National League" (Ozzie's own words) why? This will make their team better how?
The Cubs have other issues this season that need to be addressed, and have a lot more importance than this one.....
PS- Where's my 10 points and what are they worth when converted to dollars?

Wouldn't you like a deal with Boston that included Bowden?
